OTTAWA

Diaper change and play time in the park. In the background a statue to honour all the soldiers participated in wars and the Parliament's clock tower

V has the ability to draw attention to her.... this little girl from Russia ( I think....) became very fond of V and played with her for several minutes.

The Parliament

It was time to collect my Birthday gift and this meant we headed for Canada's Capital, Ottawa on Friday afternoon. After a loooooong trip (we got caught in a traffic jam due to an accident for two hours) we arrived at 7-ish at night. We stayed at a gorgeous Inn & Spa, named The Carmichael Inn & Spa, located just a short walk from Downtown.

We had great weather on Saturday and walked around the city. Of course we had to see the Parliament Building. Ottawa is amazingly small (only 750 000 habitants) - I thought it would be bigger - and unlike Toronto, it's a really beautiful town with lots of beautiful buildings/architecture. Ottawa is also known for the Tulip Festival (read more @ http://www.tulipfestival.ca), so on Sunday we headed to one of the big tulip sites, named Commissioners Park, to see hundreds of thousands of tulips...unfortunately this was the very last day of the Festival so many of the tulips were "överblommade" - don't know the english word for it... but you could say...dead....I guess...
